Hey, everyone!

I’M CAROLYN BREWSTER, AND I’M SO THANKFUL YOU’VE TAKEN THE TIME TO MAKE IT THIS FAR.

The many dreams I had for my life, my family, and my marriage never included dementia. But here we are.

I started Dymphna because, despite having the most amazing support network around me, caregiving can still feel overwhelming and isolating. I’ve accepted that this season of my life is difficult, but I also know it’s temporary. And while I would have never chosen this path, it’s up to me to use every challenge as an opportunity to grow in holiness and service.

My goal as a caregiver is to comfort my husband through this final chapter of his life, giving him dignity, security, and love.

If you’re on this journey too, walking alongside someone you care for, know that you are not alone. Dymphna is a space for caregivers like you and me…a community where we can share stories, swap resources, and find encouragement.

Wherever you are on your caregiving path, I hope you find something here that helps you feel supported and seen.

With great love and care,
Carolyn

The Inspiration

WHO IS DYMPHNA?

The name Dymphna is inspired by St. Dymphna, the patron saint of those suffering from mental and neurological disorders. Known for her compassion and courage, St. Dymphna represents hope, healing, and strength qualities that resonate deeply with caregivers navigating the challenges of dementia. By naming the community after her, Dymphna honors both the struggle and the grace found in caregiving, creating a space rooted in empathy, resilience, and shared support.
